KIGER, Cloyd - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Cates - Cloyd Nelson Kiger, age 74, a life resident of Fountain County died at 7:45 p.m. Sunday March 7 at the VA Hospital in Danville, Illinois where he had been a patient since Jan 1, 1971. Mr. Kiger was born in Parke ounty Jan 3, 1897 the son of Edward and Ella Bond Kiger. He was married Aug 24, 1917 to Verna Allen who survives. He had been a farm laborer all his life. He was a veteran of WWI and served in the army. Surviving inaddition to his wife, are six sons an two daughters, Mrs Charlotte Davis of Cayuga, Mrs.Herrell Tibbetts, Cloyd Jr and Carl all of Cates, Clifford of Covington Rt 1, Clarence of Hillsboro Rt 1, Cyril of Rensselaer and lison at home; 44 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was precededin death by 4 children. Funeral services were hThe Rev Alfred Dobbs officiated and burial was in Coopers Cemetery. Military rites were conducted at the gravevsite.
