Dewit C. Kiff departed this life on Sunday evening the 8th inst at LaGrange, Georgia. His disease was pulmonary consumption with which he had been afflicted some years. His remains were encased in a metalic
coffin which arrived at this place on Tuesday the 17th and were taken to Newtown and interned yesterday. Mr. Kiff had for many years been a useful and prominent citizen of this county and for some years previous
to his death was a respectable merchant of this place. In him Attica has lost one of her most useful and honorable citizens. The deceased leaves a numerous circle of friends to mourn his loss. And the family
circle of which he was the head, has suffered an irreparable loss. But they have the consolation to know that he died strong in the Christian faith; expressing the most ardent desire that his friends should prepare to meet him in a land where sorrow and parting are unknown.
