KEYS, John Franklin

John Franklin Key(e)s, 77, well known local resident, died at the home of his daugther, Mrs. Esther Adkins, here Saturday morning at 5 o'clock. Death was due to a heart attack he suffered last Monday. Born at Waynetown on March 27, 1859, he was the son of William T. and Esther Thomas Keyes. His marriage to Miss Hulda Poole took place on August 9, 1876. Her death occurred Nov. 25, 1935. Mr. Keyes lived in Crawfordsville and Waynetown before moving to Veedersburg. He was a member of the Veedersburg Christian Church. The survivors include three sons, Aura of Crawfordsville, Alfred of Lebanon and Clarence of Veedersburg; three daughters, Mrs. Adkins, at whose home he died (in Veedersburg); Mrs. Ora Gillfillian of Perioa Ill and Mrs. Golda Goings of Danville, Ill; a brother, Jason Keyes of Waynetown, 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and three great great grandcvhildren. The funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Veedersbrg Christian Church, Rev. OW McGaughey will be in charge, with burial in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown.
