Covington - Rex V. Keller, 61, a prominent attorney of Covington died unexpectedly at 7:21 p.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Il. Mr. Keller moved to Covington in 1947 and set up a law practice. He was active in community affairs and served as president and director of the Hillsboro State Bank. He was a past president and board member of the Piankeshaw Council, BSA, and was awarded the Silver Beaver for his voluntary services. Mr. Keller was a past city attorney. He was a member of the Fountain County, IN and American Bar Associations. He was also a member of Covington United Methodist Church, IU Alumni Association, Hoosier Hundred, Fountain Lodge 60 F&AM, Scottish Rite of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute, Tidal Lodge 36 K of P, American Legion Fulton Bantya Post 2395 VFW, Covington Kiwanis Club & Wallace Low-12 Club. He was a US Army veteran, having served 3 years during WWII. Mr. Keller was reared in the Hillsboro community and was a 1935 graduate of HHS. Born April 10, 1917, south of Hillsboro he was the son of Vora Nelson and Marjorie Bever Keller. He was married to Marian Clore at Franklin on June 9, 1940. She survives. Also surviving are a son, James D of Columbus and three granddaughters, Amy, Emily & Susan. Services are scheduled 2 p.m. Saturday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington, Rev. Robert Miller officiaiting. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Friday.
