PERRYSVILLE — David E. Keller,
70, Perrysville, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003 in St. Vincent
Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born April 14, 1933 in Danville, Ill., the son
of Ray A. and Fern Marie (Furr) Keller. He married Marilyn J. Jarred July 11,
1954. She survives. He proudly served his country in the United States Air
Force from 1950-1955. He moved to Perrysville in 1956. He was a past president
of the Perrysville Lions Club, past commander of American Legion Post #350 and
formed the first Boy Scout Troop #69 in Perrysville. He attended Stringtown
Church of God. His hobbies included camping and he was an avid Nascar fan. He
was an electrician 20 years at GE and Valmont in Danville and manager of Pawley
Lumber Company several years. Upon retiring, he enjoyed his winters in Florida
and working at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City. Survivors, besides the
wife, include: four children, Mindy (Wayne) Bush, Perrysville, Christina (Dan)
Freeman, Hope, Ky., Tony (Chrystal) Keller, Arcadia and Karen (Ron) French,
Perrysville; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law,
Sharon Keller; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two
brothers, Bill Keller of Bunker Hill and Don Keller of Veedersburg; an infant
son, Timothy; and a step father, Ben Grundon. Funeral services were at 11 a.m.
Friday in Stringtown Church of God, Covington, with Pastors Patrick McCone and
Rick Hendrickson officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington, with
military services by American Legion #350. Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, was
in charge of arrangements. Memorials to Stringtown Church of God building fund
or the River Worship Center with envelopes available at the funeral home. – jlr
