Covington - Willard Andrew Keister, age 79, of Gessie, died at 4:20 pm Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient since Sept. 1. He had been in ill health six years. Mr. Keister was born July 10, 1893, in Potomac, Ill., the son of Frank B. and Sarah Jane Hughes Keister. He was married in 1919 to Olena H. Umphenous, who survives. He had been a resident of the Gessie community since 1900. He was a carpenter and had retired in 1958. He was a member of Local 269 of Danville. Surviving, in addition to the wife are one daughter, Mrs. Elva Rudolph of Bloomfield; two brothers, Roy of Evansville and Leonard of Hammond; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Hines of Gessie and Mrs. Myrtle Beaver of Farmersburg; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. Dale Jackson, pastor of the Gessie EUB Church, will officiate and burial will be in Davis Cemetery at Fairmount, Ill. --- typed by Barbara B
