Hillsboro - Rolland O. Keeling, 75, former manager of the Grab-It-Here store at Crawfordsville, died Monday at his home here. He also managed the Grab-It-Here stores here and at Attica. He retired from the company in1965. Mr. Keeling was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church and the Come Join Us Class. He was a charter and 50-year member of the Hillsboro American Legion Post 188 and a50-year member of K.of P. Lodge and Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served with the U.S. Army during World War I. Born June 26, 1900, he was the son of Austin and Mary Starnes Keeling. He was graduated from Hillsboro High School and attended Wabash College and Butler University. He was married June 15, 1922 to Mabel Parke, she survives. Other survivors are two sons, Dr. Rolland O. Keeling of Houghton, Mich., and Leroy P. Keeling of Kingman; a sister, Mrs. Esther Fox of Shreveport, La.; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home here with the Rev. Ernest Hayden and the Rev. Arthur Schenck officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 79 p.m. today and after 4 p.m. Wednesday. A family spokesman said Mr. Keeling supported the activities of the Muscular Dystrophy Fund to eliminate the disease because two of his great-grandsons have the ailment. Memorial contributions may be made to the organization's fund drive in Mr. Keeling's memory or to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Rolland O. Keeling Sr., 75, of Hillsboro, died at noon Monday (June 30, 1975) at his home. He had been ill for some time Born June 26, 1900, near Hillsboro, he was the son of Austin and Mary Starnes Keeling. On June 15, 1922, at Hillsboro, he married Mabel Parker, who survives. A graduate of Hillsboro High, he attended Wabash College and Butler University. He was an Army veteran of World War I. A life resident of Hillsboro, he was retired manager for the Grab-It stores at Hillsboro, Attica and Crawfordsville. He was a charter and 50 year member of the Hillsboro American Legion Post 188 and a 50-year member of the Knights of Pythias. Other memberships included the Hillsboro Boosters Club and Sigma Chi fraternity.

Other survivors include two sons, Dr. Rolland O. Keeling Jr. of Houghton, Mich., and Leroy Keeling of Kingman; a sister, Mrs. Esther G. Cox of Shreveport, La., two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ernest Hayden and the Rev. Arthur Schenck officiating. Burial will be in Wayntown Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 7-9 tonight after 4 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests that memorials be in the form of contributions to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church memorial fund or to the Muscular Dystrophy fund.
