KEEFER, Sarah Mosier

Mrs. Sarah J. Keefer, widow of the late Daniel Keefer died about 10:30 o’clock Saturday forenoon at her home on Brady Street, this city. Death was caused by the infirmities of age. The maiden name of the decedent was Sarah J. Mosier she being a daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Mosier who moved to Attica from Illinois 88 years ago when Mrs. Keefer was but two years old. The decedent had been a continuous resident of Attica since coming here from Illinois. She was married to Daniel Keefer on May 25, 1855. There were born to this union two children, Mrs. AM Rupert who for years occupied a part of the house with her mother and who tenderly cared for her during her declining years and Maggie Keefer who died at the age of four years.  Besides the daughter, Mrs. Ruper is survived by one grandson, Major Archie K. Rupert who is stationed at Norfolk, Va in the regular army and one brother, James Mosier of Lafayette, he being the only survivor of a family of 10 children.  Miss George Whittier and Mrs. Ed Foster of this city are nieces and CM Whittier of Parkersburg, W Va is a nephew of the decedent. Her husband died Aug 14, 1917. The funeral was conducted from the home Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock, Rev JJ Wilson pastor of the ME Church officiating. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery, this city. - kbz

Capt. AK Rupert left Monday afternoon for Camp Eustis, VA 17 miles from Newport News, VA after having been called here by the death of his grandmother, Mrs. Daniel Keefer.
