Covington, Ind. (CNS) – James Ray Keefer, 78, of 713 Liberty, was found dead about noon yesterday (Dec. 29, 1966) in his motel room at Hot Springs, Ark., where he was vacationing. He had been ill since suffering a heart attack two years ago and death was attributed to natural causes. Born July 15, 1888, in Troy Township of Fountain County, he was the son of Thomas and Emma Keefer. He had been a carpenter and cabinet maker and had been employed by Sears Roebuck & Co. in the construction of new stores all over the country for the past 40 years. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Elouise Brickwell of Berwyn, Ill.; a niece, Betty Lou Sowers of Indianapolis; a nephew, Bill Brickwell of Berwyn; and a cousin. He was preceded in death by two sisters. Services will be at 4 pm Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Harold Fogle will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after 5 pm today. -- typed by Barbara B
