Williamsport—William H. Kochel, 60, formerly of Williamsport, died at 1:12 p.m. Monday, June 12, 1989 in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical center, Lafayette. He had been living at Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette.

  He was born Sept. 24, 1928 in West Lebanon, the son of Isie H. and Geneva B. Mourer Kochel. He was a 1947 graduate of Williamsport High School and had lived in Williamsport most of his life.

  He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a lineman for REMC for several years, then worked for Johnson Tee Vee in Williamsport until moving to the Veterans’ Home.

  He was a member of Williamsport Christian Church; American Legion Post 259 in Williamsport; a member of Masonic Lodge at Pine Village and was a past master of the former Williamsport Masonic Lodge; a member of West Lebanon Masonic Lodge; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3318 of Attica.

  Surviving are a son, George, Houston, Texas; his mother of Williamsport; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Elsie) Carlson, Williamsport, and three grandchildren.

  Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fisher Funeral Home Chapel, Williamsport, with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial was in Rainsville Cemetery.- thanks to S
