KIGHT, Purley

Purley Kight, 64, 4 Lincoln Dr. in Brownsburg, died at 8:30 p.m., Jan. 9th at the Veteran’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been in ill health for several years.

  He was born at Broadlands, Ill., Dec. 12, 1910, the son of Purley and Laverna Butler Kight. He formerly lived in Attica and had been a resident of Brownsburg the past 20 years. He was married Sept. 19, 1954, in Attica to Dorthy Myers Logsdon, who is secretary of the Brownsburg Community School Corp. Mr. Kight attended Attica High School and was a meat cutter by trade. He also had worked at Harrison Steel Castings Co. He owned and operated a meat market at Brownsburg. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Air Force.

  Surviving with his wife are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Albert (Jean) Carlson, Brownsburg; six brothers, John and Fred Kight, both of Attica; Orville Kight, Covington; Robert Kight, Savory, Ill.; Clifford Kight, Action; Ora Kight, Crawfordsville; one sister, Mrs. Ole (Beulah) Carlson, Brownsburg; eight step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and one stepdaughter.

  Funeral services were held at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica at 11 a.m. on January 13th. Rev. Vernon Seaton officiated. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery. – thanks to S
