Leslie Keeling - Jan 23, 1914 - March 20, 1989

Veedersburg - Leslie Carlyle Keeling, 75, of Rt. 1, Veedersburg died at 4:35 a.m. Monday in United Samaritan Medical Center-Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. He retired as custodian for Southeast Fountain School Corp in 1979. His memberships included Veedersburg Masonic Lodge 491, Wallace Low 12 and Rockville Low 12. Mr. Keeling was born Jan 23, 1914 in Fountain County to John H. and Dora Lee Payton Keeling. He married Thirza Mae Brewer Feb 27, 1934 at Covington. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Betty Peacock of Veedersburg; two sons, hardy of Veedersburg and Owen of Covington; three brothers, Cashius and Kenneth of Veedersburg and Robert of Waynetown; two sisters, Waneta Lynch of Tilton, Ill and Maxine George of Veedersburg; 12 grandchildren and 13 greats. Four brothers are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg with Rev. Cloyd Kyger officiating. Burial in Rockfield Cem. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-9 Wed at the funeral home. Masonic services scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Veedersburg—Leslie Carlyle Keeling, 75, Route 1, Veedersburg, died at 4:35 a.m. Monday, March 20, 1989 at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill.
  He was born Jan. 23, 1914, in Fountain County, the son of John H. and Dora Lee Payton Keeling. He was married Feb. 27, 1934 in Covington to Thirza Mae Brewer, who survives.
  He retired as custodian from Southeast Fountain School Corporation. He was a member of Veedersburg Lodge 491 F&AM, Wallace Low 12 and Rockville Low 12.
  Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Betty Peacock, Veedersburg; two sons, Hardy, Veedersburg, and Owen, Covington; three brothers, Cashius and Kenneth, both of Veedersburg, and Robert, Waynetown; two sisters, Waneta Lynch, Tilton, Ill., and Maxine George, Veedersburg; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
  Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with the Rev. Cloyd Kyger officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery.
