KADE, Floyd R. - WWI

Floyd R. Kade, 82, of Covington, died at 5:10 a.m. on Saturday at the Veteran’s Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient for the past three years.

 He was born in 1892 in Gessie, Ind., the son of John and Mellise J. (Hines) Kade.  He was married in 1928 to Ruth Banta who preceded him in death in 1935.

  He was a veteran of WWI, having served in the army and was retired from Indiana Public Service of Lafayette. He was one time superintendent of the Light and water Co. in Covington and operated his own electric shop. He was a 50-year member of the Fountain Masonic Lodge No. 60, and the Knights of Fithian, and the VFW of Covington.

  He is survived by one sister, Wesley Elythe of Ft. Collins, Colorado; a nephew, Gene Hamilton of Mexico.
  One brother preceded him in death.

  Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, (Sept. 3, 1975) at the DeVerter Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert H. Miller officiated and burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation was from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where Masonic memorial services were conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
