- Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Bobine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington for Burton Edward Jordan, 76, a retired farmer of Covington, who died at 6:40 p.m. Thursday (Feb 19, 1959) at St Elizabeth Hospital in Danville where he had been a patient since Jan. 13. The Rev. Noah Beadle will officiate, with burial in Mr. Hope Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where friends will be received after noon Saturday. Born Oct 12, 1882, in Marshfield, Ind., he was the son of Myles and Martha Lape Jordan. He was married Feb 2, 1905 to Maude Hickman, who preceded him in death Sept 13, 1926. Later he was married to Josephine Silvia, who preceded him in death and Eva Sandusky, who preceded him in death. He was married Jan 8, 1949 to Emma Myers, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Milford of Williamsport Route 2; two brothers, J.V. of Williamsport Route 2 and Noah of State Line; a sister, Mrs Pearl Turner of Mulberry, Ind., and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Jordan attended the Assembly of God Church in Covington.

Burton Edward Jordan, age 76, Jefferson St. a retired Warren County farmer and formerly of the local Grab-It-Here Store, died at 6:40 p.m. Thursday, Feb 19, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, where he had been a patient since Jan 13. He was born Oct 12, 1882, in Marshfield, Warren County, the son of Miles and Martha Lape Jordan. He was married Feb 2, 1905 to Maude Hickman, who preceded him in death Sept 13, 1926. Later he was married to Josephine Silvia and Eva Sandusky, both of whom precede him in death. On Jan 8, 1949 he was married to Emma Myers and she survives him. He had lived in Warren County most of his life and four years ago moved to Covington. He attended the local Assembly of God Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son, Milford, of Williamsport Rt 3; one granddaughter; two brothers, J.V. Jordan of Williamsport Rt 2 and Noah Jordan of State Line; one sister, Mrs Pearl Turner of Mulberry. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Noah Beadle, pastor the local Assembly of God Church, officiated and burial wa in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Russell Cox, Carl Windsey, John Jackson, McKinley Fairchild, Tom Ward and Paul Mills.
