PERRYSVILLE — Funeral services for Victor Jones, age 82, who died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, ,Sept. 7, were held at 1:30 p. m. Friday at the family residence on Perrysville Rt. 1. The Rev. Grover Williams Jr. officiated and burial, with the Pape Memorial Home in Danville, Ill., in charge, was in Atherton Cemetery. .
Mr. Jones, who had been bedfast two weeks, had been in ill health for several years. He was born July 30, 1883, in Vermillion County; the son of James M. and Ellen Skelton Jones. He attended the Coal Branch District School after which he farmed all his life. He was married in February 1912, to Bessie Bennett who preceded him in death in August 1922. He was married April 22, 1925 in Danville to Louise Murray who survives. He was former member of the Vermillion County Farm Bureau.
Surviving, in addition to the wife, are one son, Murray Jones of Perrysville Rt. 1; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Doris) Durham of Danville Rt. 5 and Miss Reva Jones at home; one brother, Cortz Jones of Perrysville; : two sisters, Mrs. Ella Rendall of Danville and Mrs. Leah Houser of Bell, Calif., and seven grand-children. He was preceded in death by two brothers
