Newtown - Orvil Z. Jones. 72, died at 2 p.m. Saturday at his home here. He was born March 25,1889, west of Newtown, son of Alonzo and Ollie Jones. He was twice married. His first marriage was to Linnie Schultz, who died in 1918. His second marriage was to Mary Hariford. They were married March 16, 1921. Mr. Jones was a resident of this area his entire life. He farmed until his retirement in 1955. He was a member of Union Christian Church. Survivors include his wife: two daughters, Mrs. Christel Royal of near Veedersburg and Mrs. Dorothy Miller of Newton; a son, Paul, of near Newton; two brothers, Carl of Wingate and Glen of Newtown: nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Union Christian Church with Milford Knowles in charge. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Newtown Cemetery. Friends may call at Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Orvil Z. Jones, 71 died at 2 p.m. Saturday April 16, 1960 at his home in Newtown following a brief illness.  He was born west of Newtown March 25, 1889 son of Alonzo and Ollie Suiters Jones. He first married Linnie Schultz who died in 1918.  He was married March 16, 1921 to Mary Haniford. Mr. Jones had been a life resident of the Newtown area and had been a farmer until retiring in 1955 and moving into Newtown.  He was a member of the Union Christian Church.  Surviving are the wife; two daughters, Mrs. Christel Royal of Veedersburg and Mrs. Dorothy Miller of Newtown; a son, Paul of near Newtown; two brothers, Glen of near Newtown and Carl of Wingate; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The body is at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Union Church.  Milford Knowles, minister will officiate. Burial was in Newtown Cemetery.
