Mellott - Morris F. Jones, age 52, of Danville, Ill., brother of Charles Jones of Mellott, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb 18, at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been transferred there from Lake view Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill., on Jan 21. Mr. Jones, a farmer, was born Aug 24, 1917, at Hoopeston, Ill., the son of Morris and Ruth Hall Jones. He married Pauline Cole on June 20, 1948, and she preceded him in death on Jan 28, 1966. On July 29, 1967, he married Naomi Monhollen Drollinger and she survives. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: a daughter, Cheryl, at home; his mother and step-father Mr. and Mrs. Frank Morris of Hoopeston' one step-son, Robert, at home; three sisters, Mrs Adeline Weston of West Lebanon, Mrs. Emma Eckerly of Wellington, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Ann Sinclair of Hoopeston; and four brothers, George of Hoopeston, Robert of Pine Village, Charles of Mellott and Ed of Hoopeston. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and he had been a salesman for PAG Corn Co. for the past 10 years. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Catlin Church of Christ. Ronald Simkins officiated and burial was in Rossville Cemetery. The Carrington Funeral Home of Fairmount, Ill. was in charge of the arrangements.
