Merritt Clay Johnson 64 died unexpectedly at 5:30 p.m. Monday at his home in Covington, following a heart attack. Born June 11, 1895 he was the son of Henry and Minnie Booker Johnson. Mr. Johnson had been in the real estate business at Covington and Veedersburg. He was a member of the Kingman Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite of Indianapolis. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; his mother of Montezuma; a daughter, Miss Norma Jean Johnson of Terre Haute and a son, Clifford of Indianapolis. Services were held Thursday at the Brown Funeral Home in Montezuma Cemetery with Masonic rites conducted by the Kingman Lodge.
