Waynetown, Ind- Mrs. Martha (Mattie) Jones of New Richmond Died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday (April 11, 1968) in the Baptist Hospital at Scottsdale, Ariz. She had been ill since the first of the year. Born May 24, 1881 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of Robert and Martha Mills Davidson. On Feb. 10, 1904, she was married to Otto Franklin Jones at her home near New Richmond. He died in 1957. She was the oldest member of the New Richmond Church which she joined in 1896, and was a life member of the New Richmond Order of Eastern Star 377. Survivors include two sons, Robert of Scottsdale, Ariz., with whom she had lived the past winter, and Mervyn O. of Collinsville; a sister, Mrs Carrie Fouts of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, five nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Richmond Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Reahard officiating. The body will be taken to the church an hour before the service. Burial will be in the New Richmond Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Monday.

New Richmond- Mrs. Martha "Mattie" Jones, 86, a resident of this area since 1907, died Thursday in a Scottsdale, Ariz., hospital after an illness of three months. Mrs Jones was a member of the New Richmond Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star here. She was born May 24, 1881, at Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of Robert and Martha (Mills) Davidson. She married Otto Franklin Jones Feb 10, 1904, near New Richmond. Surviving are two sons, Robert F. of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Mervyn O. of Collinsville, Ill.; a sister, Mrs Carrie Fouts of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Mrs Ruth Royer; four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the New Richmond Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Reahard officiating. Interment will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown after 2 p.m. Monday. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.

Waynetown- Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Jones, who died in Scottsdale, Ariz., were held Tuesday morning in the New Richmond Methodist Church. The officiating minister was Rev. Richard Reahard, pastor of the church. Organ music was played by Mrs. Mary Pierce, who included requested numbers, "In The Garden" and " Whispering Hope." Pallbearers , who also assisted with the flowers, were Robert Stephens, Donald Brady, Charles Waye, William Snellenbarger, John Bianconi and Terry French. Burial was in the New Richmond Cemetery. The New Richmond Order of Eastern Star No 377 gave their final rites Monday night at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown. Those who conducted the service were Mrs. Bernice Snellenbarger, worthy matron; William Snellenbarger, worthy patron; Mrs. Elsie Harwood, chaplain, and star points, Mesdames Ruby Lyons, Betty Leader, Vivian Spencer, Joyce Guard and Cochran.
