Stone Bluff - Lowell H. Jones, 64, a life-long resident and operator of a grain elevator and feed business in this community, died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill.,a few hours after being taken there with a heart ailment. A son of Hiram and Viola Clawson Jones, he was born in Shawnee Township, Fountain County, Jan 13, 1899. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Mr. Jones was a member of the Stone Bluff EUB Church and Charles Forrest Post 288 of the American Legion at Veedersburg. He was twice married, first to Isabelle Arter, Oct 9. 1920. He was wed to Helen Meade June 2, 1938. She survives with two daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Hale of Jeffersonville and Mrs. Judy Woodrow of Covington; five grandchildren; a brother, Leslie of Decatur, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Robertson of Sarasota, Fla. An infant daughter and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the EUB Church here, with Rev. Conley Rowland officiating and interment in Osborn Prairie Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church an hour prior to the services. The body has been taken from the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington to the residence in Stone bluff, where friends may call.
