JONES, Gertrude Crane - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Gertrude Jones of Covington, age 84, died Monday, May 2, in Community Hospital at Williamsport. She was born in Douglas County, Illinois, June 19, 1898, the daughter of Frank and Eva Spessard Crane. January 16, 1918, she married Malden Jones, who died January 28, 1979. Mrs. Jones was a member of Coopers Chapel Church.

  Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Helmburger of Champaign, Illinois; two sons, Malden Jr. of Kingman and Richard of Speedway; two brothers, Donald Crane of Indianapolis and Gaylon Crane of Tucson, Arizona; two half sisters, Imogene Larson of Metamora, Illinois, and Lucille Childress of Tucson; a half brother, Bill Crane of Tucson; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Shrader Funeral Home in Arcola, Illinois with Rev. Max Paddock officiating. Burial was in the Arcola Cemetery. – thanks to S
