Attica, Ind. Sept. 24 - The body of Corporal George Jones of Company D, 58th infantry, 4th division, who died in the battle of the Argonne, arrived in Attica yesterday afternoon. The body was escorted by the Attica American Legion post to the Presbyterian Church, where military funeral services were held, with Dr. J. G. Campbell, pastor of the Methodist Church in charge. This morning Mrs. E. H. Carqueville, sister of the dead soldier, accompanied by her husband, took the body to Chicago for burial in Mt. Hope cemetery. All business houses of Attica were closed during the funeral.
