CLINTON, Ind. - Arthur L. Jones, 73, of the Universal community on Clinton Route 2, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 8, 1978) at his home after a brief illness. He was a retired coal miner. He had worked for the Vermillion County Highway Department and Harrison Steel Castings Co. at Attica. Born Jan. 24, 1905, in Vigo County, he was the son of Henry S. and Lona Petry Jones. He married Laura Cox, who survives. Other survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Donna Price of Attica, Mrs. Delores Carroll of Lafayette, Mrs. Carol Smith of Delphi, Mrs. Marilyn Meers of Lyford and Mrs. Sharon Causey of Denver, Colo.; three sons, Robert of Roachdale, Michael of Stamford, Conn., and Roger "Corky" of St. Bernice; a sister, Mrs. Sue Tullis of Paris, Ill.; a brother, Forrest of Terre Haute; 33 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Frist Funeral Home, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. - jlr
