ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. Cynthia Ellen Jonas, 64, of Odel, Ind., died at 11:40 p.m. yesterday (May 21, 1970) at her home. She had been in failing health for five years. Born in Clark County, April 1, 1906, she was the daughter of James and Nancy Gorman Lewellen. She was married Aug. 25, 1923, at Jeffersonville, Ind., to William E. Jonas, who survives. They came to the Odel community in 1945. He is a retired farmer and she was a housewife and a member of the Memphis Christian Church. Other survivors include her father, James Lewellen of Borden; five daughters, Mrs. Gladys Brietenbach of Ocean Side, Calif., Mrs. Ethel Nichols of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Roselean Jones of New Richmond, Mrs. Alta Bennett of Lafayette and Mrs. Brenda Hilt of Delphi; three sons, Fred and John, both of Bradenton, Fla., and James of Romney; a sister, Mrs. Geneva Owens of Bordon; two brothers, James and Albert Lewellen, both of Borden; two step-sisters, Mrs. Iva Martin of Bordon and Mrs. Pheobe Nicholson of Pekin, Ind.; a step brother, Willie Metzger of Henryville, Ind.; 22 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Services will be at l p.m. EDT Monday at the DeSutter Funeral Home. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after 4 p.m. Sunday. - jlr
