JOHNSON, Sarah-1835

Source: Covington Western Constellation 18 July 1835 p 3

Died in this place of bilious fever on the 16th inst, Mrs. Sarah Johnson in the 43d year of her age.  The deceased came to this county last fall from Ohio to reside with her friends having lost her husband who had fallen a victim in the scourge of the human race, the cholera. She had a family of children, dependent on her for support, and for whose protection her most assiduous exertions were ever employed.  Her loss will be severely felt by her friends and to her family the bereavement will be great; but the hand which brings afflictions is ever ready to sanctify them with a blessing and although our troubles appear sometimes too great to be endured we may console ourselves with the reflection that when born with that resignation which virtue requires the reward awaits in the end.   –- kbz
