KINGMAN-Richard "Dick" Johnson, 37, a native of Kingman, died at his home at Ft. Wayne last Saturday night of an apparent heart attack. He was born July 12, 1932, the son of Theodore and Mary Caplinger Johnson. He was born Nov. 2, 1932 (?), and attended Kingman High School and Indiana University. He married Cleoria Smith Jan. 31, 1954. Mr. Johnson was employed as manager of the General Telephone Co. office at Fort Wayne. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Toni and Amie and one son, Michael, all at home. Other survivors include his parents and a grandmother, Mrs. Lena Caplinger of Kingman. Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lakeside Chapel at Ft. Wayne. Burial will be in that city. -- kbz

KINGMAN, Ind. (CNS) - Richard Parvin "Dick" Johnson, 37, of Fort Wayne, a former Kingman resident, died unexpectedly Sunday morning (Sept. 27, 1970) en route to a hospital in Fort Wayne. He was dead-on-arrival at the hospital of an apparent heart attack. He and his family had been camping at a state park near his home when he became ill. Born in Kingman Nov. 2, 1932, he was the son of Ted and Mary Caplinger Johnson. He married Cleoria Smith Jan. 31, 1954. He graduated from Kingman High in 1950 and the Indiana University School of Business in 1954. He was in ROTC and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Air Force. He served at Scott Field in Illinois for two years. Mr. Johnson was an executive in the computer system of General Telephone Co. in Fort Wayne. Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Toni and Amy, both at home; a son, Michael at home; his parents of Kingman; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lena Caplinger of Kingman. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. EDT Wednesday at Lakeside Chapel in Fort Wayne. Burial will follow in Fort Wayne. - jlr
