JOHNSON, Rena Gressmire

Mrs. Rena Johnson, 80, life-long resident of the Veedersburg community died at 10 o'clock Monday night at her home.  Mrs. Johnson had been an invalid for the past 7 years due to a fractured hip.  Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of Godfrey & Eve Fisher Gressmire and was born in the vicinity of Veedersburg May 1, 1866. Mrs. Johnson's husband, George preceded her in death by 8 yeaers. They had no children. She is survived by her sister, Miss Elizabeth Gressmire of Veedersburg. There are several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Veedersburg Christian Church. Rev. Arthur Howell of the Methodist Church had charge of the funeral services held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the J. Fred Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Burial was in the Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.   --- kbz
