Myrtle G. Johnson, 99 of West Lafayette died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday Jan 7, 2006 at Greentree Assisted Living Center. Born Oct 21, 1906 to James Henry and Treva Adell Rice Collins in Fountain County she was a graduate of Wallace HS in Wallace, Ind and had also lived in West Point, Maryland and New Jersey. Her marriage was to Ernest Johnson July 14, 1929 and he preceded her in death in 1982. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She was a member of First Church of God in Lafayette and enjoyed wintering in Florida. Surviving is a sister, Mary Ray of Lafayette. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to 2 p.m. service Tuesday Jan 10, 2006 at Shoemaker Funeral Home in Waynetown. Interment Wallace Lutheran Cemetery in Wallace. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Carol Johnson of Ft. Myers Fla; a granddaughter, Jennifer Pettis of Baltimore, Md and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a son, Roy D.
