JOHNSON, Fred M. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

The father of Mrs. Gerald Eitnier of Hillsboro, Fred M. Johnson 76 of Crawfordsville died at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville Monday afternoon after having been a patient there since Saturday. He had been in failing health since Nov.  Born Nov 27, 1881 at New Market, son of Ambrose and Susanna White Johnson and was married to Edith Hamilton Feb 16, 1911 who preceded him in death in 1946.  He was educated in Montgomery County schools and was a lifetime resident of that area.  He was engaged in farming until 1927 when he moved to Crawfordsville and was employed at Donnelleys until his retirement in 1949.  Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Anna Wilson, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Nellie Eitnier, Hillsboro; four sons: Harold of Willard, Ohio; Eddie, Wayne and Paul of Crawfordsville; a brother Alva of New Market and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville Thursday at 2 p.m with Rev. R Servies officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville. - kbz
