Dr. Frank Dale Johnson, 48, retired physician of Waynetown died at his home in that city Monday at 10:300 a.m. after a three years illness and had been seriously ill for three days. Born March 14, 1910 at Cayuga, the son of Frank R. and Etta Thompson Johnson. He was married in 1936 to Gwen Wilhite at Richmond, Indiana. He graduated from Northwestern University and took his internship at Akron, Ohio and a year’s residential at Peru. Dr. Johnson began his practice August 1, 1936 in Waynetown. Failing health forced his retirement in 1956. He was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church. Survivors include the widow; a son, Tom Johnson a student at Indiana University; a daughter, Etta Ruth Johnson at home; his father and stepmother of Danville, Ill and an aunt, Mrs. Lulu Booe of New Port Richey, Fla. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown, Dr. Oliver Haaselbland of Kirksville, Mo and Rev. Homer M. Cole of the Waynetown Christian Church officiated. Interment was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. – kbz
