Axel B. Johnson, 95, formerly of
Route 2, died at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 1994 in Woodland Manor Nursing
Home, Attica. He lived and farmed most of his life in Warren County near Tab,
in Locust Grove, Benton County and later in Davis Township, east of Attica. He
formerly worked at Harrison Steel Castings Co. as a core maker. Born Sept. 15,
1898, in Varberg, Sweden, he grew up there and came to the United States in
1917. He lived at Lambert's Mobile Home Court in Attica for about 23 years
before moving to Route 2. He married Edith C. Larson on Oct. 30, 1926, near
Attica. She died in 1970. Mr. Johnson was a member of First Lutheran Church of Attica.
Surviving is a brother, Louis Larson of Route 2, Attica; and two sisters, Alma
and Agnes both of Varberg, Sweden. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Marie
Hogstrum of Route 2, Attica and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was at
Maus Funeral Home, Attica, 5-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 1994. Service was in First
Lutheran Church in Attica, 2 p.m. Saturday. Pastor Karl Korbel officiated. The
body lay in state at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Interment in
Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church,
