Pearl Louise Jennings,
86, of Danville, Illinois, died at 5:40 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2000 at
Danville Care. Born May 5, 1914 in Cayuga, she was the daughter of the late
Purl John and Rachael May (Flawhearty) Rusk. She attended Armstrong (Ill.) and
Covington grade schools and graduated from Covington High School in 1932. She
was a private duty nurse and retired from Lakeview Hospital in 1972. She did
nursing care for Ivory Carter and Mrs. Conron. She was a member of the First
Church of Christ and Order of Eastern Star. She married Roy Slevin on September
3, 1932 in Danville. She later married Ralph Bradford and Roscoe Lee Jennings.
All have preceded her in death. Surviving, are: two sons, Quintine (Lucy)
Slevin Sr. of Danville and Porter (Shirley) Slevin of Imperial, Mo., 12
grandchildren, including: Glen Slevin and Quintine Slevin Jr.; four
great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Purcell of State Line; a half-sister,
Susan Cardinal Brown of Bismarck, Ill. She was also preceded in death by a
daughter, Yolanda Butler; a brother, Donald Rusk; two sisters, Mary Crose and
Ruby Steffy. Private graveside services held at 1 p.m. Friday at Spring Hill
Cemetery. Pape Memorial Home & Garden in charge of arrangements. – jlr
