Covington - Kenneth Wayne Jenkins, 58, died at noon Saturday Oct 16, 2004 in West Central Community Hospital, Clinton.  He was born May 8, 1946 in Oakwood, Ill.  Married Marcia B. Gouty July 1, 1972 in Gessie.

She survives. He was a Navy veteran from 1966 to 1970, he was on the USS Forrestal. He was employed at Quaker Oats in Danville, Ill 18 years, retiring in Jan 1999 due to ill health. He was a Vermillion County 4-H

Rabbit Project Leader 16 years He enjoyed fishing.  He was a member of Walter Hoyt Post #350 American Legion and Perrysville & American Rabbit Breeders Association. He had resided in the Christian Union neighborhood 25 years. Survivors besides the wife, include two daughters, Kami (Alonzo) McCoy, Georgetown and Kendi Jenkins at home; 3 grandchildren, Katie, Kelly and Kloe. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Shelby Funeral Home  Covington with Rev. Mark McMinn officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery. Memorials requested to Vermillion County 40-H Building Fund, envelopes available at the funeral home.
