JARRED, Joie - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Joie D. Jarred of RR 1, Covington, age 49, died Thursday night, December 25, in Carle Foundation Hospital at Urbana, Illinois. He was born in Covington, November 3, 1931, the son of Joe D. and Eura K. Collins Jarred. January 9, 1954, he married Janice Watkins, who survives.

  Last employed as service director at Kreager Oldsmobile-Cadillac in Danville, Illinois, he was employed at Delco Remy at Anderson for 13 years and at Peterson Puritan in Danville from 1965 to 1978. He was a member of the Danville First Church of God and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

  Also surviving are a son, James W. of Danville; a sister, Mrs. Treva Prather of Covington; and a grandson.

  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Gerald Weaver officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. – thanks to S
