Mrs. May Janeway 68 a life time resident of the Hillsboro community died at her home near here on Wednesday afternoon of a heart attack. Mrs. Janeway was active in the Hillsboro Christian Church, the Fraternity Bible Class, Snyder's Chapel Missionary Society and was one of the community's most respected ladies. She was born in the Antioch neighborhood Sept 19, 1884 a daughter of John and Nancy Rivers Newlin. She was married Feb 25, 1905 to Oscar Janeway who preceded her in death Dec 10, 1949. Surviving are 9 children, six sons: Lowell, George and Sam of Hillsboro; Charles of Ft. Wayne; Donald of Muncie and Thomas at Chapel Hill, NC; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Hamm of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Mabel TerBush of Sherman, Tx; and Mary Ellen Janeway of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Lenna Saltsgaver of Hillsboro and brother, George E. Newlin of Baltimore, Md and 10 grandchildren. The body was removed to the Janeway home on Thursday afternoon where friends may call. Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Hillsboro Christian Church with Rev. John Servies officiating. The body will lie in state for one hour before the services. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery with Crumley Funeral Home in charge.
