WILLIAMSPORT — Cora Mae (Lakin) Janeway, 92, of Williamsport died at 5:20 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2003 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She had been a resident at Country Care Nursing Center since June 2000. She was born in Pence on May 18, 1910, the daughter of James B. and Nora (Goodwine) Lakin. She lived in Starke County from 1910-1915 and in Missouri and Nebraska from 1915 until returning to Warren County where she had been a resident since 1935. She attended the Missouri School System. She married George N. Janeway on September 17, 1955 in Williamsport. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1982. She was a waitress at Browns Restaurant in Williamsport. She also worked at RMC in Attica during World War II. She was a caretaker for her mother, Nora and homemaker. She was a member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post #259 Ladies Auxiliary in Williamsport and F.O.E. 2596 Eagelers in Attica. She enjoyed oil painting, traveling and spending time wither her family. Surviving is one daughter, Dixie L. Slauter (Ernie) of Williamsport, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary, and one half-brother, John A. Pugh. Visitation was May 5 from 12 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport with Rev. Emmett Ade, Pastor and Rev. Charles Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Jordan Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Warren County Community Foundation Continuing Education Fund for Country Care Nursing Center Staff or the Williamsport United Methodist Church. – jlr
