JAMES, William Perry

William Perry James, 90, formerly of the Rainsville area who had resided at Woodland Manor in Attica since 1972, died 9:40 a.m. Saturday at Community Hospital in Williamsport where he had been hospitalized one month.    He was born near Rainsville Nov. 2, 1884, son of Hayes and Rose James. He lived most of his life in Rainsville, except for a short time in Williamsport and Attica. He was married in 1905 at Williamsport to Carrie Ritenour who died in 1952. He attended school at Winthrop and was a farmer by trade having worked for Oscar Harmon in Pine Village. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W. E. (Retha) Hayworth, West Lafayette; one son, Charles James, Rensselaer; 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. One son preceded him in death.    Friends were received Monday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica where services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Don Green officiating. Burial was at Rainsville Cemetery.  Those who served as pallbearers were Dean Hayworth, Wayne Hayworth, Butch Hayworth, Rex James, Paul James and Joe Zicker. – s
