Cayuga, Ind - Herschel M. Jackson, 76 of Cayuga, passed away at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday Nov 21, 1989 at the VA Medical Center in Danville.
Mr. Jackson was disabled from the military service and served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He attended the Cayuga Church of the Nazarene. He was a life member of the Cayuga American Legon Post 263 and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans of Indianapolis. He emjoyed all sports and the Indy 500.
He was born Sept 8, 1913 in Kingman, son of Cecil and May Paschall Jackson. He married Madeline KIGER on April 29, 1942, in Joplin, MO. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. James (Nancy) Spann of Cayuga; two grandchildren, Dreek and Stacy Spann of Cayuga; five brothers, Dalton W. of Phoenix, AZ; Leon of Virginia Beach, VA; Jack of Danvlle, Ill; Howard H. of Attica and Bobbie of Rockville; two sisters, Bettie Weiss of Speedway and Imogene Horton of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Services: 10:30 a.m. EST Saturday at DeVerter Brother Funeral Home, Cayuga with Rev. Dale Byers and Rev. Randy Sherwood officiating. Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport with graveside military rites by Cayuga American Legion Post; Visitation: 4-8 pm. at the funeral home. -- typed by kbz
