Mary E. Irwin was born in Tippecanoe county, Indiana, March 24 1851, died in Kingman, Fountain county, Feb 15 1907, aged 54 years, 10 months and 27 days. She was married to Levi Irwin May 13 1859 and to this union was born 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls, the oldest boy dying in infancy and the remaining 11 survive her. She with her husband moved to Kansas in the year of 1883 and lived there for 3 years, returning to Fountain county, where they resided until her death. She joined the United Brethren church about 35 years ago under the pastorate of Rev. Levi Boyd and was converted and has lived a consistent Christian life ever since. The great concern of her life was the home and the family always manifesting a Christian spirit in patience and love. Her sickness was short but severe although she bore it with patience showing much of the spirit of the Master. She is gone but not forgotten and will continue to live in the hearts of her many friends and relatives and while we have sustained a great loss in her death, we are comforted in the reflection that our loss is her eternal gain. She leaves a husband, eleven children and six grandchildren, one sister and a host of friends to mourn her loss. The funeral services were conducted by Revs. McHargue and Manuel at the U. B. church in Kingman after which the remains were laid to rest in the Harveysburg cemetery. ā thanks muches to āSā
