Elda Lavina, daughter of William and Mary Irwin, was born Nov. 22, …….. aged 40 years and 5 months. Her father died when she was but 7 years old leaving her widowed mother with eight children to provide for and with but little earthly possessions. Circumstances soon compelled her to place part of her children with friends and relatives. Elda was placed in the home of Jacob Meeker, Sr. and remained with this family until the death of both Mr. and Mrs. Meeker. She then went to the home of her sister, Mrs. B. F. Crane, with whom she had lived happily for 15 years as a member of that family. During the winter of ‘79 and ‘80 she converted and joined the Christian church. – jlr
