Waynetown, Jan 1 – A service flag will be dedicated Sunday morning at Ingersoll Church for Ernest Ellis, Gwendolyn McKee, Paul Guy Ingersoll, Lloyd Ingersoll, Ralph Ingersoll and Herschel Ingersoll. The last four are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Ingersoll who reside just over the line in Fountain County.  A service flag will also be dedicated Sunday morning at the Baptist Church by Rev. Gar Albritten - klbz

Hillsboro - Ralph M. Ingersoll, 86 of Hillsboro died at 12:04 p.m. Friday in Carle Clinic at Urbana, Ill.  Mr. Ingersoll was a teacher and farmer for many years. He served as principal in Tippecanoe, Montgomery and Fountain counties. He also served as superintendent of Fountain County schools for many years.  He served in the US Army.  He was a member of Indiana State Superintendents Association; National Education Association, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, Indiana Farm Bureau; Hillsboro American Legion Post 188 and Hillsboro Masonic Lodge 385. He was a graduate of Waynetown HS and Butler University. He also attended Danville College at Danville, Ill and Indiana University.

He was born Dec 12, 1903 in Fountain County to Clayton and Rebecca Moffett Ingersoll.  He married Zala Marie McKnight in 1939 at Plainfield, Ind. She survives.  Also surviving are three sisters: Ruth Munns of Waynetown, Jewel Bonnell of Crawfordsville and Lois Johnson of Covington. Five brothers and five sisters are deceased.  Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Dorman Winger and Susan Deverall officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-5 p.m. Sunday. The family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation. - kbz
