James Arch Idle, 76, formerly of Attica, but a resident of the Indiana State Hospital for Chest Diseases at Rockville the past six years, died at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday Jan 3. He was born Oct 15, 1891 in Attica, the son of John and Angie Clark Idle. He married Lillie Barfell in 1910 and she died in 1960. He attended the Attica schools and was formerly employed by Poston-Herron Brick Co and Harrison Steel Castings Co. He retired in 1955. Mr Idle is survived by two daughters: Mrs Henry Hockstra of Phoenix, Ari, and Mrs Clarence Cook of Lafayette: two sons, George and Laurence, both of Jacksonville, Fla: one sister Mrs Mary Cook of Veedersburg: four brothers, Carl of Maitland, Fla, William of Elwood, Clint of Lafayette and Ruby of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sons. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Roemer Chapel, Attica. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
