Mrs. Elizabeth Hutts, daughter of a pioneer is buried Monday.
Yeddo, In Aug 25, 1926 - The funeral for Mrs. Elizabeth J. Hutts was held at Centennial church Monday morning at 11 o'clock. She had been a lifelong resident of this vicinity until about two years ago when she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Roy Simmons, near Silverwood, Ind where she passed away. She was over 85 years of age. Mrs. Hutts was the daughter of Jefferson Sowers and wife, early pioneers of this community. She was first married. to Simon Weathers who lived about one year. Later she was united in marriage to Rev. L.W. Hutts, an itinerant preacher of the early days, he having died about 30 years ago. She leaves four living children, Mrs. Roy Simmons of Silverwood, Mrs. John Gilea and Clifford of Yeddo and Elijah of Hillsboro. Her father, mother, brother and wife and a young lady by the name of Johnson were all killed in the storm which passed through here about 1/4 mi. sow. of Yeddo in July 1875. Rev. J.M. McHargue will officiate. Interment will be in Centennial cemetery – kbz – she died 22 August 1926
