HURST, Lucretia - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Lucretia Hurst of Indianola, Illinois, age 83, died Wednesday morning, February 11, in Danville Care Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for eight years. Mrs. Hurst was born at Mount Vernon, Kentucky, November 20, 1897, the daughter of Jonathan Justice and Easter Allen Ponder. December 5, 1912, she married Jeffe Hurst, who died September 15, 1979.

  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Hoskins of Crawfordsville; five sons, Oscar of Brea, California, Elmer of San Diego, California, Paul of Georgetown, Illinois, Russell of Trabuco Canyon, California, and Charles of Covington; a half sister, Mrs. Florence Baker of Versailles, Kentucky; a half brother, Glenn Ponder of Alabama; 32 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Houghton Funeral Home in Georgetown, Illinois, with Rev. Charles Pearman officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery at Indianola, Illinois. - Thanks to S
