HUNTER, Paul H. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Paul Herbert Hunter, 69, Route 4, Veedersburg, died at his home at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28. He had been in ill health since June 1984.. He was born at Veedersburg June 18, 1917, the son of Abe and Elizabeth East Hunter. He was a lifelong resident of the Veedersburg area. He was married June 21, 1939, in Covington, to Argena (Jean) Coffing, who survives. He had attended Rob Roy School. He was a mechanic, having worked at Allis Chalmers, Covington, the state highway department, Veedersburg, Pritscher's , Attica, a former grinder at Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica, and he had later owned and operated his own filling station, restaurant, and garage at Stone Bluff. His hobbies were fishing and small engine repair work. Surviving, besides his wife, are three daughters, Mrs. Art (Pauletta) Fletcher; Alberta Ann Hunter, and Mrs. Randy (Tammy) Spivey,  three sisters, Magdaline Vaughan, Chicago,Ill.; Martha Hurst and Mrs. Russell (Alice) Coffing, both of Lafayette, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Hunter and three sisters, Edith, Alta and Dorothy Lucille. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Maus Funeral Home Chapel, Attica, with the Rev. Dick Byers officiating. Burial was in Osborne Prairie Cemetery near Stone Bluff.
