HUMPHRY, Phoebe McElwee - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Phoebe Humphry of RR 1, Hillsboro, age 88, was dead on arrival at Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville, Friday morning, November 12, Death was attributed to natural causes. She was born at St. Joseph, Illinois, September 15, 1894, the daughter of David and Orpha McElwee. January 2, 1918, she married Charles Humphry, who died April 24, 1974. Mrs. Humphry was a member of Prairie Chapel Community Church, Hillsboro American Legion Auxiliary, Crawfordsville World War I Barracks and Fountain County Farm Bureau.

  Survivors include three cousins, Thelma Snivly of Fulton, Missouri, Beulah Thomas of Grange Corner and Kelso Cartwright of Veedersburg.

  Funeral services were held Monday morning at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Hubert Wilson officiating. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - s
