Perrysville, Ind.—Mrs. R. Bernice Hughes, 76, of Perrysville Route 1, died at 6:30 a.m. today (Nov. 1, 1974) at her home. She had been ill six months.
Born Aug. 10, 1898, in Attica, she was the daughter of Charles and Ella Chezem Kell. She was married Dec. 27, 1924, to Glenn H. Hughes, who survives.
Mrs. Hughes has resided in the Gessie community for the past 57 years. She was a graduate of Attica High and was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientists in Danville where she taught Sunday school. She also was a member of the Evergreen Camp 9601 Royal Neighbors of America.
Other survivors include a son, Dean G. of Madisonville, Ky.; a daughter, Miss Bonnie Hughes of Lebanon; a brother, John Kell of Wingate Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Rhuie Small of Waynetown; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services were at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. Reader Bennett Rosen officiated. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.
