HUGHES, Mary Gibson - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mary G. Hughes, 62, manager of Gibson Motors Co., died unexpectedly at 8:30 a.m. Thursday (Sep. 19, 1973) in Sioux Fall, S. D. She was on a vacation trip. Mrs. Hughes had been manager of the Gibson firm since 1967. She was a member of Gessie United Methodist Church and a Sunday School Teacher 20 years. She was a member of Perrysville Chapter 302 Order of Eastern Star. She was born July 27, 1911, in Highland Township, Vermillion County, a daughter of Frank Cosby and Leona Lanfely Gibson. She lived in Perrysville all her life. She married Harold M. Hughes July 26, 1931. She was a 1930 graduate of Perrysville High School. Surviving with the widower are four sons, Chris, Kent, Samuel and James Hughes, all of Perrysville; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wood of Clinton and Mrs. Margaret Anderson of Perrysville; two brothers, Don R. Gibson of Danville, IL, and Harry L. Gibson of South Bend and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter and five brothers. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bodine Shelby Funeral Home at Covington with the Rev. Donald True officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.   --tch
