HUGHES, Bernice W. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Bernice W. Hughes of Shadeland, age 79, was found dead at her home Thursday, July 9. Death was due to natural causes. She was born near Rob Roy, October 28, 1902, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Sorrells Jaynes. She married James Hughes, who died in 1966. Mrs. Hughes had owned and operated the Aretz Motel at Lafayette for 20 years before retiring and had lived in Lafayette most of her life.

  Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. James Boudouris officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. – thanks to S
