COVINGTON — Russell Eugene Huffman, 70, Covington, died at 7:47 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007 in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born May 6, 1937 in Bismarck, Ill., the son of Luster M. and Florence (Moss) Huffman. He married Margaret Babb Aug. 24, 1984 in Covington. She survives. He was a retired farmer. He served with the National Guard from 1957 until 1964. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Covington and the Black Hat Society. He enjoyed mowing his yard. Survivors, besides the wife, include: two sons, Leonard (Connie) Huffman, Rossville, Ill. and Loren (Kimberly) Huffman, Cloverdale; two daughters, Cheryl (Jim) Parrott, Kokomo and Pam (Dean) Schimanski, St. Peters, Mo., a step daughter, Janice (Ron) Wise, Olivet, Ill.; six grandchildren; and a brother, George (Jean) Huffman, Danville, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday in First Assembly of God Church, Covington, with Pastor Mark McMinn officiating. Burial was in Walnut Corner Cemetery, south of Bismarck, Ill. DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga, was in charge of arrangements.
